Leland Sandler is an executive consultant and consultant from Jefferson County, Colorado. A graduate of UC Berkeley, he is a former university educator, curriculum developer, and faculty lead.

Sandler established his professional consulting and coaching firm, The Sandler Group, in 2002. Today, he enjoys numerous certifications as an experienced executive consultant and has previously served on the board of a leading international coaching network.

Sandler currently heads up operations at the successful California-based professional consulting and coaching firm, The Sandler Group. Headquartered in Solana Beach, The Sandler Group is a celebrated management consulting firm with two decades of proven achievement in executive advising and organizational effectiveness.

Sandler is the firm's managing partner. He and his team focus on improving the business fortunes of individuals and their organizations in the global life sciences and technology spaces. At The Sandler Group's helm and as its managing partner and executive consultant, he oversees the coaching and support of senior executives and their staff.

Areas of focus for the executive consultant and consultant include capitalizing on abilities and expanding the presence of those operating in ever-evolving business environments. The Sandler Group celebrates its 20th anniversary in December 2022.

Past roles and responsibilities

Sandler has previously served as a university educator, curriculum developer, and faculty lead. As a curriculum developer, he designed various MBA courses. These courses were implemented into national curricula, including those for students with learning difficulties.

The curriculum developer has also worked as a university instructor and presenter. He has previously held the role of university instructor and presenter at institutions including the University of California, San Diego. As a member of the University of California, San Diego's faculty,

Sandler worked within the school's executive education program.

Elsewhere, he has worked as a curriculum developer for business programs at numerous other institutions, such as the University of Phoenix.

Before establishing The Sandler Group, the executive consultant was the Head of Enrollment at the University of Phoenix, the General Manager of Productivity Point’s San Diego office, and an associate partner at consulting company C.G. Wright & Associates in San Diego. While at C.G. Wright & Associates, the UC Berkeley graduate and executive consultant focused on corporate leadership. He also supported clients with team execution issues, organizational change, and sales and marketing.

Educational background

Leland Sandler graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, in 1975. It is from UC Berkeley that the executive consultant and former educator received his bachelor's degree in history. After completing his history studies and remaining at the University of California, Berkeley, he earned his secondary teaching credentials.

Seven years later, Sandler completed a master's degree in education at San Francisco State University. After graduating from San Francisco State University, he undertook further studies at Pepperdine University in Los Angeles County. He graduated from Pepperdine University in 1988 after completing his MBA.

Associations and awards

Sandler served as a five-year board member for the Growth Edge Network. The Growth Edge Network is a leading international coaching association. Founded in 2011, it represents a space for those interested in personal development. Operating worldwide, it meets the needs of highly driven individuals seeking personal and professional growth and transformational change.

Moreover, he is a well-established and go-to source of leading executive consultant within the San Diego biotech industry. The biotech industry in San Diego is currently thriving. The city's major biotech and pharmaceutical companies include Amylin, Dexcom, NuVasive, and many others.

A presence in San Diego allows these organizations to collaborate closely with internationally recognized life sciences companies and renowned research institutions. That includes San Diego State University's more than 70 centers that serve as a collaborative and innovative nucleus of action, research, and scholarship.

Prior to embarking on his executive consultant career, Sandler was employed at the University of Phoenix, where he was elected faculty lead after excelling as the school's business program curriculum developer.

Elsewhere, and being a talented sportsman, Sandler was a winning player in his intercollegiate volleyball team at UC Berkeley.

Philanthropy and charitable involvement

Sandler is a longstanding supporter of a wide range of charities, nonprofit organizations, and other good causes. He regularly donates generously to the causes he supports. That includes both financial donations and volunteering his time.

Furthermore, and in a professional capacity, Sandler has completed five years of pro bono work with the San Diego Opera surrounding leadership and team development. He has also undertaken extensive pro bono work alongside the officers of the U.S. Department of the Navy and the U.S. Marine Corps.

In doing so, Sandler selflessly lends his ear to former military personnel seeking career advice following the completion of their service. Sandler simultaneously volunteers as a member of the San Diego Regional Chamber of Commerce's Defense, Veterans & Military Affairs Council.

Personal interests and hobbies

Leland Sandler lives in the picturesque Colorado mountain town of Morrison, ten miles west of Denver. A part of Jefferson County, Morrison is located at the base of the winding Bear Creek Canyon. The town is best known for its famous Red Rocks Amphitheatre. Red Rocks Amphitheatre is an open-air concert venue built into the natural rock structure of the surrounding landscape.

Outside of his professional and charitable endeavors, Sandler enjoys a number of hobbies and other interests. These hobbies and interests include cross-country skiing, hiking, photography, reading, and writing short stories.
